Matthew Reilly Hell Island. This book was an impulse buy at only a few dollars, has 108 pages of action, this book jumps right into it. … Scarecrow is leading a military team to hell island but what he finds is hundreds of mind controlled gorillas hell bent on killing them … This was a short but very exciting read from beginning to end.
The Wicked by Carter Brown, an Al wheeler mystery.
This book is part of 4, all of which I own, from what I could tell this seems to be the first book, I’ll read the other 3 and find out. … I loved this book, didn’t dive into each character too much, only enough so you know what is happening. Action all the way. Smooth talking gangsters, guns, dame’s. Al is hired by the leading lady as a PI to find out who murdered the screenwriter.
Police Lieutenant who smokes and drinks too much and flirts with every dame in town. … ‘unorthodox’ LA Lieutenant Al Wheeler investigates the murder of a screenwriter of a western who made enemies of the cast and crew by writing a series of kiss and tell articles for a gossip magazine. Quantum by Patricia Cornwell. The title really has very little to do with Quantum physics like I thought.
You get to know Calli Chase on a very personal level in this novel, every little detail that she is thinking, which isn’t a bad thing, it can seem to go on at times, by the end of the novel you understand why this is so. … She is trying to solve a murder, find her twin sister, stop disaster and do her day job all at the same time which makes for an interesting read. … I’d be interested to read other books by the author.
We Were Never Friends by Margaret Bearman was the first book that I read that got me into my reading journey about 2 months ago. … The book is based in the city of Canberra, which I live in, it mentions a few streets, suburbs and other areas that I know.
This book is from a young teenage child’s perspective, has child abuse, some odd sexual content and a few other oddities that had me thinking WTF am I reading, but I just had to finish the book to know what happened and I wasn’t disappointed. Goes into great detail about what is going through the character’s mind.
I arrived home from work and a package from daughterofmymum with my 3 new book sleeves, they are amazing, incredible quality. … I got 3 different sizes, one which will be for my Kobo Libra 2 reader. … I will be ordering a few more for sure, lots of different ones to choose from. … I also received some cool free stickers.
My gaming laptop and switch hooked up to my new monitor which surprisingly has two HDMI inputs so I won’t need the little switch box that I purchased 🤷♂️ . The last system I had was a full blown desktop with an almost 3m wide desk. . Going to enjoy this smaller set-up much more, was playing Crash Bandicoot on the new screen which is 24″ curved . The operating system that I use is Linux (Mint Cinemon edge) yes I have steam installed and can play any one of the almost 400 games that I have, actually 99% of the time it runs better than it does under windows. . I am looking into a laptop stand and some nice over ear headphones, also need to tweak the cables 😁 . Going for a cosy vibe. .

Takes place on an island off the coast of Australia, a private investigator is hired by a young woman of the family that owns the island to get answers but finds a whole lot more, people missing, murder, a touch of romance and a whole lot more all while a storm is rolling in. … Has a secret near the end that comes out that I wasn’t expecting.
A small section of the book that has stuck with me “I believe in forever relationships, yet I also think a brief, beautiful experience can add something, a different energy, to keep a marriage going” I don’t believe in cheating so I can’t explain why this has stayed in my mind.
